Mulch Resource and Mulch Program discontinuance.

With the discontinuance of the production of compost and mulch materials, the City has received a lot of questions about where they can now obtain mulch. The City has contracted with Hansen's Environmental Wood Services to the haul off of all collected composting material. In return, Hansen's is offering Ladue residents a discounted rate on bulk materials. Please see the attached price sheet. As always, Ladue residents are free to obtain mulch and compost materials from any vendor that meets their needs.  Hansen's Price List

*Please note, the brush and leaf collection program is not impacted by this change.*

Discontinuance of Ladue Mulch Program:  The Public Works Department evaluated the costs associated with the Ladue yard waste leaf and brush composting program which began in 1993. This cost evaluation was completed due to two factors; the upcoming scheduled replacement of the original leaf composting equipment in 2018 at a budgeted cost of $485,000 and a projected deficit in 2017 in the City’s General Fund. Due to these factors, the mulch program was discontinued in 2017 and no longer processes mulch for resident's use.

Telephone Scam

Dear Residents,

A man with a foreign accent identifying himself as a Mr. “Kasten or Castin” has been calling Ladue residents claiming to be with the United States Attorney’s Office or the Treasury Department, stating a lawsuit would be filed against the caller/home owner unless they make a payment in the matter. There is no common telephone number associated with these calls. This is a phishing scam; no one from any government agencies calls demanding money.
